Here, you&#8217;ll see all the data collected since the project&#8217;s inception. Whenever something changes in your project, Twproject saves all the data, creating a historical record that can be navigated using the slider at the top of the page.<br \/>\nYou can watch a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_XqBG1lpw_4?list=PL32A8C9C60AEE13FF\">tutorial video<\/a> dedicated to the statistics, or continue reading!<\/p>\n<p>This is where we have placed our Timeline to provide you with a dynamic view at a glance. It allows you to immediately see the dates of significant changes compared to the initial planning (baseline).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/blog\/project-baseline-measurement-variables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">baseline<\/a><\/strong>, as the word implies, is in fact the base of the project, established before the project is started. It is meant to capture the initial situation, to see if and how far we will deviate from it later.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22445\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/baseline-1.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 457px) 85vw, 457px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/baseline-1.jpg 457w, https:\/\/cdn.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/baseline-1-400x197.jpg 400w\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"225\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>It mainly includes: timelines (start and end date), expected costs, and resources involved. In Twproject it is always visible in the Statistics page.<\/p>\n<p>But as we know, it is natural for these variables to change during the actual course of the projects and thus deviate from the baseline.<\/p>\n<p>All\u00a0<strong>quantitative\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/blog\/project-variance-how-best-to-manage-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project variations\u00a0<\/a>are automatically recorded on the Timeline<\/strong>, without the project leader having to manually annotate them.<a name=\"recording\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Recording events on the Project Timeline<\/h3>\n<p>So, what is meant by\u00a0<strong>quantitative project variations<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>We are specifically talking about changes in delivery dates and in budget; we will see all these changes highlighted on our timeline with a specific icon based on the event.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22354\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/eventi-su-timeline.gif\" alt=\"events on the timeline\" width=\"1427\" height=\"85\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This is what our Project Timeline looks like.<\/p>\n<p>The icons within it show the times when something in our project was changed, and specifically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Date<\/strong>: calendar icon indicates that a project start or end date has been changed. Since the Timeline is also available for project sub-phases, any time changes in these phases will also be visible on their related statistics pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Budget<\/strong>: any budget changes are recorded and shown on the Timeline with the coin icon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Update<\/strong>: the small balloon icon instead tells us when a reminder has been manually added about a salient event that occurred on a certain date. Reminders can be added directly from the main page of our projects, in the section dedicated to updates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Free scrolling of the Project Timeline<\/h3>\n<p>But of course it is also possible to\u00a0<strong>drag our cursor on the Timeline<\/strong>, to view the progress of the project over time.<\/p>\n<p>As we scroll we will see the percentages of work done changing, along with all the other data shown in the graphs on the Statistics page.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22358\" src=\"https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/scorrere_timeline.gif\" alt=\"timeline scrolling\" width=\"840\" height=\"218\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>We will be able to move back to any time point in our project, to monitor progress at a certain date or simply see what and how it has changed from the baseline.<a name=\"snapshot\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>An extra monitoring tool: the Project Snapshot<\/h2>\n<p>But there is a tool that complements and collaborates with our Project Timeline:\u00a0<strong>the function that lets you take a Snapshot of the current state<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This will allow us to check this state easier at a later date.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22361\" src=\"https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/istantanea-840x508.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/istantanea-840x508.jpg 840w, https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/istantanea-400x242.jpg 400w, https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/istantanea-705x426.jpg 705w, https:\/\/static.twproject.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/istantanea.jpg 1449w\" alt=\"project snapshot\" width=\"840\" height=\"508\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>On the Overview page of the project or of one of its phases, you will find the small camera icon.<\/p>\n<p>With this you can \u2018take a picture\u2019 of the situation at any time and then display it clearly on the Timeline.<\/p>\n<p>After you have captured the moment,\u00a0<strong>you can write a note to link to this Snapshot<\/strong>: e.g. a time reference, a turning point in the progress of the project, or any other relevant aspect.<\/p>\n<p>You will also find your snapshot icon among those in the Timeline; you can simply click on it to see the status of the project at the saved date.<\/p>\n<p>This step is\u00a0<strong>very useful in the case of long-ter<\/strong>m projects.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it will prevent you from scrolling through your Timeline randomly in the future, instead allowing you to have the most interesting moments already highlighted.<\/p>\n<h2>Worklog and Costs<\/h2>\n<p>The Statistics page provides detailed information on the entered worklog and incurred costs, offering a clear view of the project&#8217;s progress and the resources used<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5089\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/stats-graph.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1221\" height=\"561\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Statistics page will show detail about worklog inserted in time and costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Timeline Features on the Statistics Page On the Statistics page, in the tab following the Project Overview, you&#8217;ll find everything you need to create a comprehensive and accurate project monitoring plan.
