Twproject uses stemming, so if you searches &#8220;hotels&#8221; you will find &#8220;hotel&#8221; too.<\/p>\n<p>This is a wide search on &#8220;everything&#8221;, so you may find project, resources or appointments.<\/p>\n<p>Twproject gives you also a refined filtering system, that uses database searches (sql) instead on full-text ones.<\/p>\n<h2>Common filters<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4935 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/common-filters.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1308\" height=\"505\" \/>Every list, project, resources, ToDos etc. has a set of commonly used filters. These filters are accessible from the left menu, section by section.<br \/>\nFor instances on projects page you will have &#8220;Open&#8221;, &#8220;Next Milestones&#8221;, etc.<br \/>\nOn ToDos pages you will have &#8220;My ToDo&#8221;, &#8220;For today&#8221; etc.<br \/>\nIf you click on a filter, the filter will be applied and you can see how the filter has been composed; it is a good starting to understand how filters work.<\/p>\n<p>Once a filter is applied, print, report and export, will be applied to the filtered elements only.<\/p>\n<h2>Search using filters<\/h2>\n<p>In order to find project, ToDos or resources with refined searches, \u00a0just click on the \u00a0corresponding link in the top bar; the filtering system works in the same way\u00a0for every section.\u00a0For instance &#8220;Projects&#8221;.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4936\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/search.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1567\" height=\"125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By default you will see the &#8220;default filter&#8221;, in this case &#8220;Open&#8221;. Not enough? Press on the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4937\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/imbuto.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"42\" height=\"36\" \/>\u00a0icons to get more options on a right bar:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4938\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/filters.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1594\" height=\"932\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This filter lets you compose refined search conditions \u2013 click search to get it going .<\/p>\n<p>Each field is used in logical <strong>AND<\/strong> with the others, so for instance if you set the \u201ctype\u201d you will find only projects\/phases of that type. In fact every preset filter simply fills the respective fields in the form so you can use them as a guide for composing your own.<\/p>\n<p>Results are usually paged, and you can flip pages by using the paging bar:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4939\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/pagination.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1505\" height=\"67\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Page size can be changed, just click\u00a0in the field\u00a0and type a number.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2079\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/page-size.png\" alt=\"page-size\" width=\"358\" height=\"36\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Custom filters are powerful also because Twproject supports <strong>Query By Example<\/strong> (<strong>QBE<\/strong>) and allows you to store your filters in order to quick repeat complex searches.<\/p>\n<p>Most Twproject&#8217;s list pages, allow printing and exporting to Excel: print, export, report will apply to the current set of objects.<\/p>\n<h2>Save your\u00a0filters<\/h2>\n<p>In every Twproject search page you can save your filter:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4940 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/save-filters.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1007\" height=\"104\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4941 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/save-filters2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"214\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the filter will always be available in the drop down near the page title:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4942 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/saved-filters.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1599\" height=\"566\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can decide to use a filter as your default one. In this case prefix the name with \u201cd:\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Filter buttons<\/h2>\n<p>On the right side of every list page you will find some buttons for adding, printing and exporting.<\/p>\n<p>The magic wand will be visible if you have some wizard active.<\/p>\n<p>The eye icon will allow you to show\/hide columns in the list:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5061\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/list-buttons.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1599\" height=\"323\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Search tricks: QBE<\/h2>\n<p>The query by example (QBE) search method gives the user an easy way to compose complex queries, by using a particular syntax in the search fields. If for example in a field you write &#8220;$mixer*&#8221; and click search, you will get all results that start with &#8220;mixer&#8221;, but not those that have \u201cmixer\u201d as a middle occurrence.<\/p>\n<p>Twproject by default is case insensitive in searches, even on case sensitive databases; this can be changed by the administrators.<\/p>\n<p>If values are specified in more than one field, all these must be satisfied (fields are in &#8220;AND&#8221;). Fields where QBE is enabled are usually easily identifiable: <a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/clip_image0034.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; The same in case of an interval e.g.: 1\/1\/2009:2\/1\/2009. The engine will search for dates &gt;= 1\/1\/2009 00:00:00:000 and &lt;= 2\/1\/2009 23:59:59:999.<\/p>\n<h2>Date shortcuts<\/h2>\n<p>Date fields allow users to quickly insert dates in the correct format. You can move between months by using the arrow buttons, but more interestingly, you can use some shortcuts instead of inserting a complete date.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2249 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/screen928.jpg\" alt=\"screen928\" width=\"200\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For instance you can insert \u201ctoday\u201d (or even \u201ct\u201d) instead of inserting the actual date. What is really interesting is the use of such shortcuts in custom filters. In fact using QBE in dates allows you to express something like \u201call those whose end date &lt;t\u201d intending that <i>end date<\/i> is in the past.
