It is a constant process and lessons learned from past experience determine future planning and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process is not linear, rather it is an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.collinsdictionary.com\/dictionary\/english\/iterative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iterative<\/a> <\/strong>process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization learns and improves its ability to engage with significant stakeholder involvement. This improvement takes place while relations of mutual respect are developed, which replace the one-off consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s see the various phases of the stakeholder engagement plan:<br><a name=\"Planning\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Planning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, we need to identify the basic goals, the problems that have to be faced and the stakeholders to whom the critical priorities for the organization should be assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although planning should be undertaken at the beginning of the project, an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/blog\/change-management-how-to-manage-change-in-a-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">analysis of changes<\/a><\/strong> should be carried out regularly throughout the project&#8217;s life cycle.<br><a name=\"understanding\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Understanding the stakeholders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, we need to identify the urgency they feel for their problems, the legitimacy of their interest and the power they have to impact on the organization in general. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having an understanding of their motivations, goals and problems, and which of these are actually the<strong> problems of the project<\/strong>: in this way it will be possible to outline the priority stakeholders.<br><a name=\"trust\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Building trust<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The different stakeholders will come with different levels of trust and confidence. Recognizing this and the way in which we interact with them will therefore have to adapt to the level of trust.<br><a name=\"Consultation\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Consultation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For general success, it is important to get a fair representation of all stakeholders during this phase, and consequently: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Provide information and proposals that respond directly to the <strong>expectations and interests <\/strong>of previously identified stakeholders and not only to information that responds to internal goals and activities.<br><\/li><li>Provide detailed <strong>background information<\/strong> to stakeholders who must draw fair and reasonable conclusions.<br><\/li><li>Be realistic in the negotiations regarding expectations, needs and goals. This will help to <strong>reach an agreement<\/strong> and create trust.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultation process includes personal interviews, workshops, focus groups, public meetings, surveys and other <a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/blog\/brainstorming-project-management-creativity-service-projects-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>participatory tools<\/strong><\/a>. Project managers must therefore evaluate the level of trust in relationships but not be too hasty in their judgment.<\/li><li>Understanding the motivations of stakeholders and the organization and being transparent can help overcome differences. Recognizing that the fundamental motivation of each part may be very different from another. However, understanding and articulating this difference can already help fill in the gaps.<\/li><li>The organization must recognize the importance of the opinions and commitment of the stakeholders. It is essential that the organization as a whole appreciates the contribution that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twproject.com\/blog\/project-stakeholders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stakeholders<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>make to the overall success of the company.<\/li><li>It is important to plan commitment and communication in a way that encourages everyone&#8217;s point of view.<\/li><li>The organization&#8217;s culture will have an impact on how stakeholder engagement occurs. For this reason the assessment of the corporate culture is important to identify the enabling factors and the obstacles to the <strong>activities of stakeholder involvement<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Evaluating a past non-productive involvement will help the organization learn from past experiences.
